213 Days!

malachi 7

Y’all has 7 months really passed by? WOW! It’s been so so busy this summer, and so many changes have actually happened with Malachi within the last two weeks!

It’s hilarious that he actually does NOT want to crawl properly (he always falls down and does like a superman position in order to not do it right) but he usually gets to what he wants by turning precisely in the right direction and streeeetcchiiinnggg his long body to reach the object he is wanting.

He is getting SO big, so fast and I swear with the way things are looking (as he is seriously trying to already pull up on stuff) he might just be walking before he crawls! I have been trying to keep up with weekly pictures of him, because when he turns one, I want to make a collage for him and hang it up in his room.

Weight: 20 pounds (but feels like 40 when you are carrying him all.day.long) LOL.

Length:27 inches taken at home

Likes:

-To be held! This teething machine has stuck to me like glue lately!
-To be loud!  I swear he thinks the way to be heard in this loud house of ours is to scream! Lol!
-To eat! He literally doesn’t want ANYTHING to do with baby food, and will eat smushed up table food, or just taste flavors of different foods!
-To suck his thumb when he is sleeping! I was a thumb sucker (and it did a major number on my teeth–sorry mom–but I am glad that he uses it just for nap/bed time and he doesn’t keep it in his mouth all the time).
-His bath! He recently learned how to splash and it is his favorite thing!!

Dislikes:
– When are out of sight and he thinks he is by himself–cue the elephant tears!
– Getting dressed/undressed! He still doesn’t like the fact that people have to wear clothes!

Teeth: He has gotten 2 teeth in the past 2 days! Poor kid!! But yay, all that drooling and fussiness will hopefully subside soon once these pop through!

Language:
He says mama when he is with Shane and won’t do it for me, lol–but he hasn’t really said any more words.  He is trying to sign milk and more, but hasn’t gotten that fully either! He definitely know when you sign those two things to him though!

Milestones: He just started to pick up his back left leg to try to crawl to what he wanted but won’t fully do it yet, and he walked in a walker at my parents house (yay!) and he officially is a belly sleeper! Shane and I both are (as are all of our older 4 kids) so we knew it would probably be in his future!

Upcoming:

MD appt:  9 month well check! And I need to schedule a dental visit now that he has some teeth!

I will leave you with a couple of adorable pictures! Thanks for stopping by!

4 months old!!

4-months

So somehow we have made it to 4 months already!? That is crazy and I love how much growth has happened over these last 4 months! From literally just eating/sleeping/pooping and peeing all day to now being so talkative, belly laughing, rolling over, trying to sit up by himself, and eating from a spoon (and still drinking milk/sleeping/pooping and peeing, haha)!

I am just amazed at laid back he is, how much he still loves to be cuddled up against us when he is napping/ or just sitting wanting to play and sit on your lap to watch everyone and how much joy he brings to the entire family.

It’s so precious that each one of kids are developing such a unique and special bond with him, that they are going to carry with them for the rest of their lives.  Brielle loves to feed him, cuddle him, and make him laugh (around 100 times a day), Joseph loves to play with him on the ground and just talk to him and introduce him to new toys, and activities.  Luke loves to laugh (and in return malachi laughs back) and loves to sing “twinkle, twinkle little star” to him to calm him down, and Gracelynn LOVES to say “kai kai” and show him all of her toys and she has started to sing him to him as well and loves to see him laugh!

So even though his doctor appointment isn’t until next week, I am just going by what we have taken here at home!

Weight: 15 lb 6 oz pounds taken at home scale

Likes:

-To be held! It’s so adorable how much he LOVES when we are holding him!
-To be talked to and play “peek-a-boo”
-To eat! He just tried baby food for the first time today and ate the ENTIRE bowl!! He loves food (just like his parents).
-To sleep! He has woken up past two nights 1 time for a feeding but before that we had a good stretch of sleeping ALL.NIGHT.LONG! Hallelujah! I just wish we could pass on the great sleeping to the girls in the house (including me).. but we are getting there!
-He loves to be hot! He loves to be pressed up against someone when he is napping!
-His carrier! He literally falls asleep in it almost instantaneously. We have now introduced the sling carrier as well and he has done amazingly well!

Dislikes:
– Clipping his nails! Though he is finally tolerating it a bit now!
– Changing his clothes.  He absolutely hates it now!

Teeth: None! 🙂 Though, the drooling has caused increase in spit up, so that’s fun! 🙂

Language:
I swear it’s like he is responding correctly to what we are saying at times! His cooing is incredibly adorable and his laugh literally melts my heart every time!

Milestones: Rolling over back to front on both sides now, trying to sit up on his own, and eating his first baby food!

MD appt:  4 month appt May 14th

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks and today’s monthly picture!

Thank you all for following along his journey and growth! I believe crawling and sitting up on his own is surely going to happen in the next few weeks!

It Happened–She’s ADOPTED!!

So after 486 days in foster care, we are official adoptive parents of our precious baby girl Gracelynn Marie Johnson! We love her to death, and she is definitely our “wild child” of the bunch and we are SO glad she is officially ours!!

I wanted to incorporate an entire blog post with SO many pictures of our baby girl that we have never been able to share without having to blur her face, to let you all in on our journey from day one to now! Thanks to EVERYONE for loving on us and supporting us throughout this journey, we LOVE you all!

These are some of my most favorite pictures from her since day one (especially her monthly photos when she was SO tiny) to now! Hope you all enjoy them and love them as much as Shane and I do! ♥♥♥

Easter 2017 photos!

This year, I wanted to take the Easter pictures a little earlier than normal, because I couldn’t wait to put the precious outfits that I bought them, on them! I wish you all could see the precious, adorable, children behind the blurred images (but due to foster care regulations, that is not allowed), but let me assure you… they are some cute kids!

I decided to to take them at a bridge in Gonzales, Tx and it seemed to turn out so GREAT! I also took a few in our front yard, by a run-down barn we have out front.. and we it has made for some awesome backdrops for my kids!

I hope everyone has an amazing Easter this Sunday and spend it with lots of love, food, and amazing fellowship with your friends and family!
