213 Days!

malachi 7

Y’all has 7 months really passed by? WOW! It’s been so so busy this summer, and so many changes have actually happened with Malachi within the last two weeks!

It’s hilarious that he actually does NOT want to crawl properly (he always falls down and does like a superman position in order to not do it right) but he usually gets to what he wants by turning precisely in the right direction and streeeetcchiiinnggg his long body to reach the object he is wanting.

He is getting SO big, so fast and I swear with the way things are looking (as he is seriously trying to already pull up on stuff) he might just be walking before he crawls! I have been trying to keep up with weekly pictures of him, because when he turns one, I want to make a collage for him and hang it up in his room.

Weight: 20 pounds (but feels like 40 when you are carrying him all.day.long) LOL.

Length:27 inches taken at home

Likes:

-To be held! This teething machine has stuck to me like glue lately!
-To be loud!  I swear he thinks the way to be heard in this loud house of ours is to scream! Lol!
-To eat! He literally doesn’t want ANYTHING to do with baby food, and will eat smushed up table food, or just taste flavors of different foods!
-To suck his thumb when he is sleeping! I was a thumb sucker (and it did a major number on my teeth–sorry mom–but I am glad that he uses it just for nap/bed time and he doesn’t keep it in his mouth all the time).
-His bath! He recently learned how to splash and it is his favorite thing!!

Dislikes:
– When are out of sight and he thinks he is by himself–cue the elephant tears!
– Getting dressed/undressed! He still doesn’t like the fact that people have to wear clothes!

Teeth: He has gotten 2 teeth in the past 2 days! Poor kid!! But yay, all that drooling and fussiness will hopefully subside soon once these pop through!

Language:
He says mama when he is with Shane and won’t do it for me, lol–but he hasn’t really said any more words.  He is trying to sign milk and more, but hasn’t gotten that fully either! He definitely know when you sign those two things to him though!

Milestones: He just started to pick up his back left leg to try to crawl to what he wanted but won’t fully do it yet, and he walked in a walker at my parents house (yay!) and he officially is a belly sleeper! Shane and I both are (as are all of our older 4 kids) so we knew it would probably be in his future!

Upcoming:

MD appt:  9 month well check! And I need to schedule a dental visit now that he has some teeth!

I will leave you with a couple of adorable pictures! Thanks for stopping by!

my little man is 3 months!!

3

So this time thing is just flying by with our baby boy (I didn’t get a chance to post the 2 month blog post–haha can we say life with 5 kids is a bit busy at times?)!  I can’t believe he celebrated two holidays this past month (first St. Patrick’s Day and Easter).  I feel like he has grown into such a little man this past month!! He is drinking around 3-4 ounces now with both breastmilk and formula and still doing great on both, and just now found his tongue (he mimics you and sticks it out–it’s SO cute!), and his hands (he holds them close to his mouth and it melts my heart). Ok I might be just a little obsessed with our last baby (I got the Essure procedure to prevent anymore future babies) and I am just trying to soak in all of his little “firsts”.

Weight: 14.5 pounds taken at home scale

Length:24 inches (taken at home)

Likes:

-To be held! It’s so adorable how much he LOVES when we are holding him!
-To be talked to (he SMILES so much, it’s adorable!!)
-To eat! We call him big hungry sometimes, because I swear he sometimes eats every 1-2 hours!
-To sleep! He has definitely started sleeping less during the day and more at night! (Shane is so happy for this since he does all the night duties–oh and thank goodness for a great husband)
-His jammies (even though he is seriously in 6-9 month ones already–because of his length)
-His carrier! He literally falls asleep in it almost instantaneously.

Dislikes:
– Bathing.  Hates going in and coming out of the bath. STILL.
– Changing his clothes.  He absolutely hates it now!

Teeth: None! 🙂

Language:
Besides the grunting, not much of a language yet (just a LOT of coo-ing)

Milestones: He is definitely lifting his head better and loves to move his upper and lower extremities, and LOVES to smile, and definitely rolled over from back to front one time this past month.  Oh and he slept one time ALL.NIGHT.LONG (can I get an amen?)

Upcoming:

MD appt:  4 month appt May 14th

I can’t leave y’all without pictures, so I will do a little update from each month!!

Malachi is 1 month old!

one .jpg

So 1 month has passed already and I am amazed at how crazy life has become since his birth. We got sent to adoptions with our boys case (will update you soon on the blog), went to two doctor appointments for Malachi, counseling appointment for my foster sons, 1 doctor visit for my four year old foster son, had 2 visits with CPS, therapy appointments for Gracelynn, and had to take both of my foster sons to Austin to be evaluated by the psychologist. Oh and to top it all off basketball season started for my 6 year old, and dance practice resumed back for Brielle.

We couldn’t have done ANY of this without the help of my parents.  They have been the biggest blessing throughout this entire month and I appreciate it all so much! Thank you Mom and Mike!

One thing I definitely want to do within the next year is keep up with his milestones, likes/dislikes and major developmental growths! ♥♥

Weight: 10 pounds taken at home scale (but was also 10 pounds last week at the doctors)

Likes:

-To be held! It’s so adorable how much he LOVES when we are holding him!
-To be cuddled up with Brielle.  She is seriously the baby whisper-er I promise! They always love her so much!
-To eat! Every time he is awake, he eats first from me (I don’t supply enough milk) and then finishes with a bottle every feeding.
-To sleep! He is definitely the best day sleeper and is letting us have a little bit longer stretches at night (sometimes up to 5 hours)!
-His jammies! He practically lives in them!
-Grunting! He is definitely a little grunter, and it’s so cute!

Dislikes:
– Bathing.  Hates going in and coming out of the bath.
– Changing his diaper, or actually the wiping aspect of it.  He hates a cold wipe!

Teeth: None! 🙂

Language:
Besides the grunting, not much of a language yet!

Milestones: He is definitely lifting his head better and loves to move his upper and lower extremities!

Halloween Scare- 27 weeks

faith over fear.jpg

So, many of you know my past history with my precious angel babies, and know that it is just amazing that God would bless us with our rainbow baby, and that we could not be more excited.

Well, since my 20 week anatomy scan, the sonographer that measures all aspects of the babies body, couldn’t find a nasal bone for my baby.  They thought at first “it was a bad angle” and told me “come back in 4 weeks and we will look then”.  I didn’t think anything of it, because they didn’t seem that concerned at the time.

Fast forward to my 24 ultrasound/appointment and a different sonographer stated that she couldn’t see the nasal bone either, and measured everything else again on the baby (the heart, brain, kidneys, etc) to make sure there were no other abnormalities with the baby. It all came back good, so yet again they sent me home and stated the baby was just being “stubborn” and wouldn’t let them get a good look.  (The baby was using my placenta as a pillow at the time, and they couldn’t get him/her to turn over so they could get a better shot of his/her face, so that’s why they were saying how “stubborn” he/she was being).

So my doctor wanted me to come back in 3 weeks instead of 4 this time, just in case, so I scheduled my last appointment on Halloween.

Well, it didn’t go as planned, because I figured this time for SURE we would see a nasal bone and the baby would cooperate.  Well, long story short… the baby gave the sonographer about 20 seconds of a good angle and covered his/her face the rest of the time, so the sonographer only got a couple of good shots and determined that indeed, there was still no nasal bone. The good news though is that the baby weighs 2 lb 9 oz. and had a heart rate of 154.

Basically, a major concern with this is that not having a nasal bone is a soft marker for down’s syndrome (along with other indicators throughout the body such as a hole in the heart, or small gestational size, etc.) but there were no other signs with our baby.  The doctor wanted me to rule all possibilities out of it being a genetic factor and suggested that I do a genetic screening and then go see a maternal fetal specialist to make sure that it is not them making a mistake, or just not seeing it.

I called my doctor’s office yesterday and they stated that everything came back normal on the blood tests and that there are no genetic abnormalities in the results, but they still want me to see the specialist in Austin to make sure everything is ok.

This baby could just have a flatter nose than most, but we are hoping and praying that tomorrow everything will be determined and we can finish off these last 12 weeks of the pregnancy great.

Thank you to everyone for your continuous love and support♥♥ God is definitely providing us so much peace with this pregnancy, that we have never had before.

I will leave you with some pictures from our last ultrasound =)

Have any of you ever experienced this?? If so, would love to hear from you!💓
