How Lush!

fresh.jpg

For my birthday, my best friend bought me some fresh handmade cosmetics and I couldn’t wait to share them with the world! Lush cosmetics is a great line for women who are looking to stay all natural in their products, and know that what they are using on their body is good for them and the environment.

Each product is handmade and made right there in the back of their stores.

The gift box Krystle got me was compiled up of six products.  All the products are made to be used during the bath/shower and they smell amazing!  I have used a couple of them already and they literally leave your skin feeling so soft and so smooth! I can’t wait to especially use the facial moisturizer, because my skin is constantly dry!

The boxing is amazing and chic, and it list all the ingredients of each product, in the box.

If you are looking for a all natural approach to your skin and the make-up you use, this product is definitely for you!

Pink and Gold

This past Friday, Shane and I got invited to go out with a few of our friends.  Shane and I decided to open our Christmas gifts to each other early that night, since Brielle was with my parents for the night, and we both wanted to know what each of us got! 🙂

Well, I have been wanting Kendra Scott earrings for the longest, and Shane gifted me, with the perfect pair.  They are beautiful!  I knew I had to wear these beauties out, so that was my focal point for my outfit choice!

I LOVE pink and gold together, so I knew that was what I was going to go with.  Here is all what made the earrings, look that much better!  I wore a black and gold glitter top, and black tights. 🙂

  1. First and foremost, the right pair of earrings make such a difference in a look! Especially when you have short hair like me!  I have the pink and gold medium-sized Kendra Scott earrings.
  2. The right shade of lipstick is a must! I paired my outfit with NYX, Summer Breeze, matte lipstick! It stayed on the entire night as well! 🙂
  3. Blush is something that is extra, and most people don’t have to wear any, but it really does make such a difference in your overall look! And it makes your cheeks standout! I chose the elf blush, in a light pink shade.
  4. When it comes to your eyes, you want them to stand-out, but not too much.  I love my glitter palette eye-shadow by wet-n-wild, but a little goes a long way! I used the pink one for the night! I also love the Maybelline-Stiletto liquid liner, since it literally does not smudge or move, all night.  To top it off, I used the Stila huge mascara, and it makes my eyes POP!
  5. I usually don’t paint my nails, but this night I chose to go with a pink bottom coat, and a glitter (snooki brand) top coat.  I loved the turn-out and it blended really well together!
  6. To complete my look, I finished it off with my rose-gold Betsey Johnson watch which I absolutely LOVE!

Here is everything together!

What are some of your favorite looks when you go out? I would love to know!

Throw that out!

Throw that out!

So after visiting my best friend, a couple of weeks ago, we got to talking and visiting and catching up on life.  Well, when it was time for me to get ready to see Val and the girls, she noticed me using the same make-up from YEARS ago.  I mean, the same eye-shadow pallet that I have had for a few years.  Her exact words were “omg, girl throw that out!”

So, of course, at that current time and place, I could not. I went home and thought about some beauty products that definitely needed to get thrown out!

Starting with, my brush.  I got this pink brush, about 3 years ago.  Yes, I know that’s absolutely gross.  Well, when you think about how many brushes it has been used in, is even more gross.  It’s just something that has not been on my list to get, in a long while.  I am glad that she told me this statement, because it made me realize that I haven’t bought myself any “new” beauty products in years.  I am VERY happy with this new revlon, detangler brush.  It’s smooth, lightweight, and easy to clean.

Next, is my blush.  I dare to say, that I have this same blush for almost 4 years.  Granted, I don’t use it often, but that’s insane! It never triggered me, how long I have been using this same color, for years.  Thank goodness, I got this updated, newer/better color for my skin tone, blush by ELF and I love it so far.  I used it today for a birthday party, and I could tell the difference it made on my skin! Crazy how new make-up makes you feel!

Then, came my eyeshadow.  I have had this maybelline eyeshadow for 5+ years. I used to use it ALL the time, until it ran out of the lighter/white color that I used all of, and I would still continue to scrape the side of the make-up box to get the last remains of the color.  I must say, this new Maybelline eyeshadow definitely looked perfect with my skin tone, and I was SO happy it came with an eyeshadow brush as well!

Last, was my mousse.  The mousse on the right (by Herbal Essence) is not necessarily old, it has just been my GO-TO product for years on end.  I have not ventured far away from this one,in years.   It leaves my hair crunchy, and I have never really LOVED it, even after all of these years.  I thought this would be a perfect time to try something new.  I bought this Pantene for curls whipped cream, and it is purely heaven.  I mean, it smells amazing, feels amazing, and you use a LOT less mousse to get the desired effect.  The best part is, my hair feels SOFT, all day!

I must say thank you to Adriane, for yet again, inspiring me to do something different.  I am one to stick to the same habits/routines, and not venture out to try something new.

With that said, out with the old, and in with the new! I trashed all the old products, and have opened/ started to use all the new ones.IMG_1960.JPG

Cheers to not making this same mistake, again!

Birchboxin’ It-November Box

Birchboxin’ It-November Box

Sadly, this is my last Birchbox from my birthday present! Thank you SO MUCH Adriane, this has definitely been an amazing 3 months trying out new and different products, and seeing what truly works best for me! I am SO sad that this journey will be ending (due to us having this new house and all the major expenses that goes with it!).

This is probably, hands down, the best box out of the three.  Of course, they would go out with a bang, but honestly, I love every product.

This months box contained a mask, a primer, a red matte lipstick, curling cream, and dry shampoo.  Here is my take on the products

  • I am in LOVE with this red matte lipstick, like beyond in love! It stays on for a few hours, even while eating/drinking without having to re-apply.  It is bold, and beautiful!
  • I tried the dry shampoo on Brielle, but I swear people with naturally curly hair, can’t use dry shampoo by itself!  It has never worked in my hair, and it didn’t really work in hers..  It just kind of poofed out all of her curls, kind of like afro style.   I still had to use some of the next product and definitely some water to keep the curls tight.
  • The curling cream was good, but for Brielle’s volumized hair, I think I should have probably used more than a dime size amount.
  • The eye primer I have used, but still have yet to figure this product out! It will take some time to see how I should really use it.
  • The face mask I still haven’t used as well, but I am definitely excited for!

Thank you again Adriane so much for gifting me with three months of greatness, and I can’t wait to use all these goodies up! Love you girl!
