Can this last longer?

Can this last longer?

I seriously thought this Christmas, was one of the best ones yet.  We finally got to combine BOTH of our families, in the same day! WHAT?  It is SO hard to try to combine family holidays, because of scheduling, traveling, activities, presents, etc., but it happened!

The pictures will speak for themselves, but I truly hope to do that again! And Shane and I hosted our first big holiday at our new house for my family, which was awesome! First major holiday gathering is now in the books, and we can’t wait for the next one!  🙂

Happy Holidays

The holidays are here, and what better way to celebrate, than to send people pictures of your perfect family, via a Christmas Card!

Well, have no fear, of course now that I got a nice expensive camera, I tried to take family pictures by myself, HA! Well, let’s just say, they all needed editing (because I picked a terrible afternoon time to do it!).  So, fast-forward 1 week and a half later, and having my mom take majority of the pictures (after I tried putting the camera in the right settings for her), worked out SO much better!

Here is our Holiday card from 2015! Enjoy! 🙂

They are en route to everyone as we speak, so I figured it was the perfect time to share them with you all as well! 🙂

My Christmas Wish List

I have wanted to post this list for a while now, but I kept feeling like I shouldn’t put out there what I need/want, when so many people out there, are going without.

It wasn’t until yesterday, after teaching/showing Brielle the importance of donating and helping others in need, that I decided it was ok for me to put out a few things that would make my Christmas a little better! And, it’s ok if I get nothing from the list! 🙂

Here are my top 5 Christmas gift requests!

  1. ‘I did my best Journal’ from Glam and Paper.  I am thinking about hopefully starting to write my first book next year, so I definitely need a journal to do it in! And how adorable is this thing? Rose Gold? Hello!

2.  A brand-new Agenda! I have already been gifted a small one, but it doesn’t exactly fit everything I need, so I am keeping that one just for Brielle–related items.  This one is has enough room to write on each day, and the gold polka-dots won me over! They are so cute! I love me some Glam and Paper!

3. These Kendra Scott earrings.  I have seen SO many people wear them, and I still love them! They don’t go “out of style”, and if you ask me, anything that is pink and gold is seriously a must-have! 🙂

4.  A google play gift card. I am expanding my blogging reach, and trying to create/organize as best as I can, but that requires some apps that could better help me get it done! They are about $3.99/each and so a gift card would be the perfect way to help make that possible! $10 could go a long way! 😉

5.  Last, but not least, is a new book! I love to read, and of course Oprah releases her complete book club list, and it makes me want to buy each one of them! I have actually read a few, but I would love to re-read them as an adult, and having a different outlook on life!  This one below looks rather interesting, but honestly, any of them would work! 🙂

That’s all for now! I am super excited about giving gifts this year, and I tried some simple DIY ones, that I can’t wait to share, once they have opened them of course! 🙂

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

‘Tis the Season

I don’t know what it is about this season, but it just brings so much joy and happiness into my heart. For the first time in our adult life, Shane and I are celebrating our first holiday in our new house!  Thanksgiving came and went, and we were really hoping to be in here by then.  Well, God blessed us with an even better holiday to be able to celebrate and that’s Christ Himself.

I think we have learned so much about ourselves, and each other in this whole process of buying our first house, putting it on an empty plot of family land, installing electric, sewer, and well, and ALL of the extra things that have come up since.  It’s insane how much patience one must have, to endure this process.  Shane and I will suggest to anyone right now to already have all of that, so that all one would have to worry about is getting a house and putting it on the land.  So.Much. Stress.

The start of this month calls for our first Christmas Tree to be bought and decorated and put up, the Advent Calendar to be printed and taught to Brielle for the first time (which is so good to find ways to teach her about the Lord), pull out her elf on the shelf Lincoln and read the story and meaning behind her again (since this year she will finally be able to understand the true meaning behind her), and truly teach her about how good it feels to give to others, instead of receiving.

So much has changed for us this year that I didn’t think we would be able to see the light again after Rochelle passing. Just remembering that one of us spent Christmas in the hospital with Rochelle last year, while the other spent the day with Brielle and family, is so crazy.  We know each and every day that we are here, because of our angels looking over us and being with us each and every day.  Holidays are when it hits people the most, when it comes to missing their loved ones, but I know that if you stay close to those you love, and stay close to God, you can get through it.

I am glad that I have two organizations that I am supporting already within this week, and I can’t wait to see what else I can do for the month!

Thanks be to God for blessing us with another season with each other, our family, and our friends.
