February family day=beachin’ it!

So it’s been so long since I have been on a roll with blogging and I just feel so rejuvenated and inspired lately (it might have to do with the fact that my parents watched my 3 littles–3 years and under for a couple of days).

In February, we celebrated one of our middle children, turning 6! We wanted to do something extra special since he hasn’t really ever gotten a proper birthday party, and he loveeees the water, so we thought taking a trip to Corpus Christi, Texas was a must!

All of the kids had a blast playing in the ocean the first day we got there..  I wish I were brave enough to capture the sweet moments of true happiness while they were playing, but I was not too brave to take my camera out around all that sand.

The next day, we packed up ALL of the kids (even picked up my niece and nephew since it feels like it had been forever since we had seen them) and made our way over to the aquarium for the day!

It was SO much fun to see all the kids explore all around the aquarium and touch stingrays, see an amazing dolphin show, see a huge crocodile up close and personal, and an amazing bird show (plus so much more!) I was so glad we got some new updated family photos as well because they will ever be this small again, and our journey is definitely something worth documenting!

Enough typing already, I will just let the pictures do all of the talking, and I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!♥♥

Cheers to 12 years!

-Cheers to 12 years`.jpg

Ok, so I just made the realization that I am 28, and we have been dating/together for almost half of my life! haha That is insane to think that we were literally children we got together, and now we have been through hell and back, and are still together as adults!

I cannot believe that 12 years have passed by, 3 biological children , and 5 foster children have been given for to the both of us to love, guide, and support throughout these 12 years.  When I was first meeting him at 16 and telling literally everyone ( that would listen) that I was going to marry Shane, and start a family at 25, I didn’t know that it would truly happen.  We were young and had that same mind-set about goals in life, faith, and our future.

Looking back at all of our struggles and triumphs that we have had to go through, with even the loss of our own children, have brought us so much closer as a couple than we ever could have imagined.  Our commitment to our wedding vows and our relationship with God has gotten us through the darkest moments of our relationship together.  In 3 years we are planning on doing a wedding vow renewal for our 10 year wedding anniversary, so that will be so fun to see that come to pass! It’s not often that you get to grow up with your significant other and see the many struggles that happens in early adulthood with change in friendships, college graduation, jobs, and buying your first house.

This year we wanted to do something a little different for our anniversary and celebrated by driving to Austin, going to out to dinner with our friends at this amazing Sushi restaurant (and we even got to eat at the Hibachi grill) and then going bowling and having a couple of drinks with our friends/family! I can’t believe that we got a night off parenting and just got to be us!

I have truly cherished all the many friends that remain so close and loyal to the both of us, to the family that have picked us up when we were down, and to everyone who has helped us get to where we are in life.  I thank you all, so very much!

Cheers to 12 more years of fun, adventures, and living life to the fullest!

Rochelle is 2!!

7-1

This year, I am doing better, with knowing she is exactly where she is supposed to be.  It’s interesting.. this thing we call grief.. it’s an unending roller coaster of ups and downs, and it’s a ride so many of us are on. I am happy to say right now.. we are on the “up” side.

This year I still kept with tradition and did #pinkforRochelle on FB for all of our friends and family to participate in a balloon release in honor of her name, or just wearing pink/doing something in her honor.  It was so nice to see so many friends/family participate!

We were going to do our own balloon release, but God had other plans and it was POURING the entire day of the event, so we cancelled it and just did a craft with all of the kids with the balloons and made the most of her sweet memories.  Now that we have 3 boys (who didn’t know our sweet precious Rochelle) we got to tell her amazing life, battle, and story in those 2 months and 1 day, and how Brielle will forever be bonded to her baby sister (she still talks about her quite often).

We love you Rochelle Elaine Johnson ♥♥ Happy 2nd heavenly birthday!!

Lucky number 3!

3 months with the johnsons (1).jpg

The past 3 months, have completely flown by and I cannot believe on her 3 months with us, we got 3 more children to add to the clan!!

Between the weekly visits with her parents(we have to drive almost 2 hours there and 2 hours back) each Tuesday, to the endless amount of doctors/therapy visits.. she definitely keeps us busy!

She is already loved by SO many, and I seriously can’t believe our precious girl is already 7 months old! It has been just recently that she is losing all of “newborn” tendencies and it’s so amazing to witness the growth in her brain, and also her extremities.  She is such a miracle in every possible way, and we love that we get the honor of sharing life with her and can’t wait to see what the next few months hold for her!

She has really adapted to our home, our environment, our crazy schedule and all of the kids so well, it amazes me.  She is so familiar with “her people” that she will smile SO big when she recognizes a familiar face (it’s the cutest thing, literally).

We still don’t have her sleeping away from us in her own crib in her room yet.. but we definitely foresee that in the near future (since her adjusted age–the age she was actually born at would only be 3 months old, we are waiting until she gets closer to 4-5 months old for the big transition).

She is also still teething.. like major time! Baby girl even ran a high fever for 3-4 days with no other signs/symptoms even sent us on a trip to the ER. Still as of today.. no teeth! Little girl is a drooling/teething machine lately!

Thank you for all the love for the her, for the gifts from people (especially my parents–y’all are amazing) and for all the help each of you have provided in her short life, and all the love you have given not only baby girl, but to all of my children!

Can’t wait to watch baby girl soar and grow into such a big girl soon!
(Update**She officially rolled over front to back for the first time ever on Monday  11/07/16)

Here are some pictures.. which of course I have to blur/black out her face due to foster regulations and rules!
