Yesterday could best be described as on the road. We (Brielle and I) left around 6:45am to make it to her dentist appointment by 8 in Seguin. I have tried to prepare her for what was to come as best as I could, knowing that method seems to work best for her, so she’s not surprised. I probably should have done some warning about the alligator decorations that would be everywhere.. haha she was a little scared!
I wanted to change her dentist to someone new, and different since Brielle has had terrible experiences in the past. I did not want her to think that the dentist is a place to hurt you or make you afraid of taking care of your teeth properly. I switched to Alligator Dental in Seguin and they are AMAZING! The staff is so good to you, and they gave us a private room just in case Brielle would freak out since it was her first time and I loved that they took that into consideration. She got used to the place pretty quick and loved playing with all of the toys. Dr. Al (Dentist) walks in and sets everything up on his lap and told me to lay Brielle back. After a couple of mins of her crying and resisting, she eased up and let him go to work. I am so glad to know she is cavity FREE and even got to go on the wall with all of the other kids who also have none. She was so excited about that!
Then after the dentist we ran some errands and I was looking for a Dollar Tree and got lost and ended up at this beautiful park and knew we had to make a pit stop. Brielle had SO much fun and they actually had a little area for kids ages 2-5 and it was so nice for her to be able get on everything on her own without me helping, and even better for her to be able to exert her independence! After we were done with the park (with a lot of convincing from mommy) we grabbed a bite to eat and then headed home.
After a great nap (3 hours!) at home for the both of us, we knew Shane has been wanting a new phone and that meant getting on the road and traveling another 45 minutes to Victoria to make that happen. The at&t store was in the mall, so I was really hoping that we could get some Easter pictures with Brielle and the Bunny for the first time and we were ALL good until the baby in front of us started crying and Brielle freaked out. I am guessing she thought the Bunny hurt the baby or something, but she was like “Mommy NO!!, No bunny!” So no pictures with the bunny this year! 😦
After that we ran some more errands, and had dinner at Olive Garden (which was our tradition after every doctor appointment) and she devoured the soup and breadsticks. It’s funny to see what your child will be interested in when they don’t really eat a certain type of food at home. I am so glad that she will at least try majority food before saying she doesn’t like it.
Our way home was pretty late (8:30pm) for us so we knew we had to entertain Brielle with singing songs and playing games the whole way home so she wouldn’t go to sleep! Waking up a sleeping toddler is no fun! I am so glad we had a fun filled day and we even got to practice our letter of the week while we were out and about which was pretty cool!
Here are a few pictures from our silly girl!
