10 things before bed!

PicsArt_04-12-10.38.11

When Brielle is going to bed, it used to take forever! Now we have gotten it down(of course after bath is done) to about 5-10 minutes! This 10 on Tuesday, I going to list 10 things Brielle must do before she does to bed.. or else our night routine will not be fun!

Ο  Of course she must take a bath /shower

Ο  Right when she gets out of the bath/shower we play for a couple of minutes and then wind down

Ο She loves to put on her own pull-up/underwear now

Ο Jammies-  She hasn’t gotten to wear she chooses her jammies yet, which we always have layed out for her to put on when she gets out of the bath/shower

Ο  Read books which usually consists of 1-3 books depending on how much time we have

Ο She loves for me to brush her hair and leave it wet and down before bed

Ο Brush teeth (she tries to do this on her own and then either Shane or myself will follow behind her and brush really good)

Ο She plays this game with Shane every night when she turns on all the lights near her room

Ο  I then pick her up and go to her bed to say our nightly prayers with Shane

Ο I then tuck into bed and give her a big kiss and hug and she says “I love you to the moon and stars” and I say “I love you to the moon and back” and close the door, and she goes straight to sleep.

5 on Friday!

I haven’t done 5 on Friday, in a little while! SO I will definitely update you on a few things happening around with us Johnsons!  Things have been crazy around here adjusting into finally having our house complete and moving in it, staying at home M-F with Brielle and homeschooling her, and thinking of how I am going to accomplish all of my goals this year!

  1. This is pretty exciting news–Our daughter is officially potty-trained, broken of pacifiers, and transitioned into her big girl toddler bed! What’s even more insane is that we did it ALL within the same week! (That is another blog post in and of itself and Shane and I couldn’t be more proud of our 2 1/2 year old growing up right before our eyes)!
  2. We have successfully completed our house and we are still noticing some small things that are having to be fixed, but are so thankful God put this idea in our heart so that we are more space for our family (yay, for mobile homes!) ;)! I will be starting our blogging journey on how we chose this house pretty soon and what to do/not do when it comes to purchasing your first mobile home!
  3. I purchased a new lens for myself for Christmas, and boy do I LOVE it! I am seriously loving taking pictures, and could SO see myself doing this on the side one day for profit, once I fully figure out the ins and outs of it all!
  4. I have joined some amazing blogging groups/joined some classes online, and
I am beyond excited to dive into this blogging journey/lifestyle and really make the most of it! I know now that I am beyond capable of doing great things, and so I want you all to stay tuned for big things happenings around here with Journey with the Johnsons!
  5.  I purchased 5 things for $12 from our little cute boutique called Bleu in our small little town where I live, and I absolutely love a boutique with great sales, so that I can replace my old, used stuff with cute new updated stuff! YAY for amazing sales, and I would encourage all of you to visit your local stores and always remember to #shoplocal!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Coffee chat, with cinnamon rolls!

Haven’t had a coffee chat in a little while, so I figured I would catch up on some major things going on here!

Of course, since it is cold here in Texas now (well, for the past two days), I feel like you must have something warm to drink in the morning, when you are first waking up! But, along with something warm to drink, I feel like the cooler weather brings the acceptance of eating a warm croissant(such a nice delicious cinnamon roll) as wel!

I have had some major changes this past month and I would definitely first start out the conversation by asking how you are doing, and find out the latest updates with you! I am a great listener, so I love when people get lost in their lives!

Once the conversation turned back towards me, I would definitely tell you that I have so many changes with my jobs, my house, and my family, that sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming.   Celebrating Rochelle’s first birthday was hard, yet rewarding.  I would tell you that my house itself is here, and my well is placed in, but we are still not living there.  We still have to get our electric pole and septic tank placed there.  God is showing me so much through this process, and at the end of the day, I must remember to trust in His timing, and just wait.  I would tell you that my last “official” day with my home health job in Austin is coming up and I can’t believe it! It has come by so fast, that I can’t believe it’s almost here, and she is almost 4! YAY, I am SO proud of her!  I would also tell you that I am SO beyond excited to be meeting up with my family (my cousin and her family) for thanksgiving!  I have to work that day, but I know it will be a GREAT new experience for all of us, and I can’t wait!

I would also probably tell you that I can’t believe Brielle is growing up SO fast! Next month, she will be 2 1/2 years old! Where in the world has time gone? I love this stage SO much, and I feel like I can do anything and everything with her.  She is such a big girl and has some major transitions coming in her life (potty training fully, transitioning from crib to bed, saying good-bye to paci’s), that I would almost say to beware of the upcoming months for us and say a LOT of prayers!  Transitioning to a new house will be completely different for her, yet exciting, and it will definitely bring so many new changes for her!  I would probably (if you are a mom) ask you how all of works and what the easiest techniques are.

By the end of our coffee date, we would definitely make sure we finish our cinnamon roll and make sure to get extra to take home to the family if we needed! We would definitely need to set up a date for our next meet-up, give hugs, and say our good-byes!

It was nice having another coffee date! I hope you are all doing well! 🙂
