So.. it finally happened!

So during this adoption process, it feels like there is a WHOLE lot of hurry up and then wait… so we got stuck in the waiting part for the past 2-3 weeks (but if we are honest.. it’s been in the waiting process for well over a year or so)!

Let me back track a little for those of you who have not been following along my rollercoaster of a journey with them-

• Our foster sons entered into our home on October 31st, 2016 after already being in care since December of 2015.  They came all together as a sibling group of 3 and they are our biological nephews that we were never really close to/around due to the boys parents lifestyle choices (drugs, alcohol, theft.. the whole works). We never knew they were in foster care until one day we got a call from Shane’s half sister begging for us to take her boys into our house in hopes of one day adopting them.  After a WHOLE lot of prayer, we said yes.  This is the first post here where I described each one of the boys, and it’s funny looking back and seeing how hopeful we were in the fact that we could do the adoption fast.. haha nope (gotta love CPS).

• Then when we thought the trial would FINALLY happen, it got rescheduled again and I didn’t know how much longer we would have to finally wait for an answer from the Judge! Little did I know God was working everything out for us..

• THEN  this happened and we couldn’t have been more ready to move forward with our lives and our family!

• I tried my best to prepare the boys for the final visit and they did a LOT better then I thought they would have done!

• And then we celebrated having our boys with us for ONE whole year! (plus I gave a little insight on why their older brother was place elsewhere).

And now that we have thoroughly caught up on all the important aspects of this case, we can FINALLY say that we WILL be adopting our boys within the next few weeks (will post an exact adoption date as soon we set one)!  We are currently just waiting on our adoption worker sending all of her information to our lawyer and once all of that gets turned in and submitted, we should be pretty close to being able to set the date for the adoption!

We cannot wait to share their pictures (unblurred) with all of you and their NEW names (they both wanted to change their first and middle names–just like we did with Gracelynn).

Stay tuned for some amazing things happening in the Johnson household! ♥

1 week already!!

week 1.png.png

First off, I cannot believe that Malachi has been here for a week already! Shane has two weeks off of work to spend with us at home, and it has been the greatest in the world to see him bond with his son, and have the ability to spend more time with our other 4 kids at home as well!

He had his first check-up which went great.   The Doctor did a head to toe exam and everything checked out just fine, no concerns were noted at this time.  He also wanted to make sure he was gaining back the little bit of weight that he had lost at the hospital, and it turns out that he had gained all the weight back and then some! He now weighs 8 pounds 1 oz. and still 19 1/4 inches long.  He stated that overall he was a healthy little boy and that he will see us in two weeks for his PKU follow up.

Let me tell you, Malachi is a great eater, great sleeper, and such a laid-back child! I know this is just newborn bliss, but I am loving every single minute of it! All of the kids are loving having a baby brother as well, and it’s so cute to watch each of them develop their own personal bond and relationship with him!

I wanted to share some pictures I have taken this last week, since I want to remember Malachi this small, forever! I know even in a few weeks his looks will change, and he will start to fill out, so I definitely wanted to make sure I captured all these sweet moments now! ♥

FYI my boys have to be blurred due to them being in foster care and it’s to protect their privacy! 🙂

Thank you ALL for your sweet comments on our surprise (gender wise) baby boy! We are so blessed and thankful to have him!

It Happened–She’s ADOPTED!!

So after 486 days in foster care, we are official adoptive parents of our precious baby girl Gracelynn Marie Johnson! We love her to death, and she is definitely our “wild child” of the bunch and we are SO glad she is officially ours!!

I wanted to incorporate an entire blog post with SO many pictures of our baby girl that we have never been able to share without having to blur her face, to let you all in on our journey from day one to now! Thanks to EVERYONE for loving on us and supporting us throughout this journey, we LOVE you all!

These are some of my most favorite pictures from her since day one (especially her monthly photos when she was SO tiny) to now! Hope you all enjoy them and love them as much as Shane and I do! ♥♥♥

We have a DATE!!!

15.jpg

Ok, I have SO much joy and excitement in writing this, that I can BARELY contain myself!

We just got the “official notice” that our baby girl will be FINALLY a JOHNSON this Friday, December 15th! We have been through SO much with her, and the fact that we get to adopt our precious baby girl at 20 months old, is amazing!

God has truly blessed our family with the greatest gift of ALL through foster care and adoption and I cannot believe that we will be given the gift of forever, right before Christmas (one of my favorite holidays of the year).

To say that we are excited, is an understatement.  We have never been more happy in our life, and let me just tell you.. Brielle is SO excited to have a “forever sister” in our baby girl and their bond is so amazing already, and I know these two will two will be best friends forever.

THIS Friday the 15th of December, at 11:00a.m. we will be able to show our girl to the world, and announce her official new name!  Our kids will be missing school that day to attend this amazing event, and we cannot wait!

Outfits have already been bought, and my camera is READY to take a whole LOT of pictures (please get ready FB/Insta world)!

Shane and I cannot thank you all enough for the countless prayers during the difficult time in our journey, and the countless praise during the good times! We love you all and have been hesitant in talking or posting a lot of updates about what has been going on, afraid it wouldn’t happen or that we might just “jinx” it!

God is so good, in the good times and the bad.

Will update with a LOT of pictures on Friday so be on the lookout!♥♥♥
