Can’t believe it’s Friday!

Can’t believe it’s Friday!

This week has been a very long week and we didn’t even do much!

  1. Last Saturday, I started to get sick after I had worked an 8.5 shift and then taking my niece and her friends pictures, pretty quickly.  I started to feel weak all over, fever, and immediately thought I was getting the flu.  After I woke up Sunday and felt a lot better and went to work, I decided I was just coming down with an upper respiratory infection.  Let’s just say.. It’s Friday and I am still not 100%! Bad thing is, now I think Brielle is coming down with it.. ugh!
  2. I have worked 2 night shifts this week and I learned something major! I sleep WAY better during the day then I ever do at night! Thank you so much Mom and Mike for watching Brielle and making it possible to get such good sleep (my mom thinks it could be that the house is quiet and there is no one to worry about–which could definitely be true)!
  3. Brielle has grown such a  wealth of knowledge and experience with life.. and she is not even 3!  Her memory is amazing, and I just want to remember so much in her life, that I have started adding more videos of her learning and growth on my YouTube channel.
  4. Tomorrow we are taking our last class with this  foster/adoption process, before we schedule for another home study with our new agency! I am hoping MAY is the month that we get our child!  Please continue praying for our future child to be placed in our hands and that we are able to shower them with  so much love and goodness!
  5. We are ALSO vacationing at the beach this weekend and I can’t wait for Family day!! Our April day got rained out and we are BEYOND excited to just get away!! Rockport, we are so ready for you! (Many pictures to come!)

Hey you! It’s Friday!!

I can’t believe the week has already come to an end! I will share with you 5 happenings this week, with the Johnsons!

∞ I have worked out every day, twice a day for the entire week and I am REALLY wanting to win this step challenge (one of the groups is SUPER competitive) considering I have walked/worked out the most ever!

∞ Brielle got to see her Nana and Papa  for the first time in a couple of weeks and they made some bread (and let me tell you, it’s AMAZING every time! I really need to learn it and post a recipe soon!

∞Brielle almost is completely out of pull-ups which is amazing!! She no longer naps with one and has not had an accident yet! *whoop-whoop* Next step–removing the night-time one (I hope to conquer that before this current pack runs out)!

∞I worked overnight for the first time in a while, and it wore me OUT! Thank goodness Shane dropped Brielle off with my parents and I could sleep for 5 hours.. ahh.. so peaceful!

∞Snapchat has become one of our favorite apps (sheridanj2014) and Brielle has LOVED some of the filters.. they are beyond hilarious! Follow me there to see more of my crazy toddler learning, playing and living life!

**Bonus–Check out my YouTube Channel that I most recently updated with new videos of Brielle learning here. I want to capture her knowledge and learning growth over the years and felt like this would be the perfect place! I will add more videos of her when she was younger as well!

It’s Friiiiday!

It’s Friday, which means it’s for a little weekly catch-up with 5 this Friday! This week has been exhausting yet so fulfilling at the same time! Thank you Lord!

∴  Probably the most important thing that happened this week was that we finally switched out adoption agencies from CPS (the one run by the state of Texas) to one near where we live, and we have LOVED working with them so far. The other agency would take what felt like forever and would always find more problems for us to fix, instead of moving forward, and this one new one is the complete opposite.  They are willing to do whatever it takes to lend us a helping hand! 🙂

∴  Another important change that occurred was that for the first time in months I went to Bible Study with my Sister in Law and it was amazing.  I really want to develop and grow the relationship I have with the Lord, and the only way I am going to be able to do it, is by spending more time with Him.

∴ I have officially worked out 5/5 days this week and killed it! I mean, I think they probably killed me.. but I am so proud of myself for not finding excuses each and every day to not go, and just went.  It’s so true about that quote that “you never regret not going to the gym, after the workout is complete”.

∴  On Wednesday, Brielle had an appointment at the dentist, and did SO good! She literally barely cried when the Dentist was too rough when brushing her teeth.  YAY!  I wanted to reward her by taking her to the park, but I couldn’t remember that fun park that we had went to 6 months ago, and settled for the City Park in Seguin which had this beautiful rose garden, and gorgeous little creek flowing through it.  BUT, there was no actual park (swings, slides, places to have fun), but we both still really had fun and went to eat at this amazing little cafe called Amy’s and Cathy’s take out, and boy it was de-li-cious!  Will definitely be going back!

∴  Brielle has had a little interest in choosing her clothes lately (especially when I am folding them/cleaning out the old and replacing with the new), and one day this week I let her choose completely what she wanted to wear, and she looked SO cute! I definitely wouldn’t have chosen it for her, but I am happy with her style!

5 steps to building a fence!

5 simple steps

If you remember my post from Tuesday on 10 tools that you need to build a fence, then this post on how to do it will make perfect sense!  Hope this gives hope to anyone looking to do so in their future!

○dig hole with auger.. fill hole with 3 inches of gravel/rock  gravel (for the 4 corner posts + two gate posts you must dig 33 inches with auger, for the rest of the post only 14 inches)
○put post in-level it with the other posts
○fill hole around posts with concrete mix and be sure to pack hole and make sure it is flat and closes all edges near post
○ place fencing on post-make sure it is level and then staple it securely and cut extra fencing/wire at the bottom
○build gate and place in the middle two posts and make sure it is secured on to the posts and that it works effectively.

** Bonus would be make sure you trim off the top of the posts to make them all level and place a header on top.. We are hopefully finishing that this coming week! 🙂
