And with that…she is 3!!

This past week Brielle got to celebrate turning 3 and getting a NEW friend (our foster child) in the same week! To say it was eventful, is an understatement.  On the day of her birthday, we spent time with family and friends and went out to eat and had the best time with those that we love.  Friday, she went to Corpus Christi to spend the night with my parents at the ocean (got to go on a sailboat, on a regular boat to look for dolphins,go swimming in the pool, and got to pick up her cousins and bring them back home to our house) and then celebrate her birthday here at home yesterday.  Whew!  This little girl turning 3 means so much to Shane and I, and we are beyond blessed and thankful for ALL of our friends and family who called, sent us a text message, bought her gifts, and donated to our adoption agency! We love you all!

DIY picture frame

I remember back in the day, when I was in Elementary school, we made little picture frames out of popsicle sticks, and I wanted to re-create that with my little toddler!

Here are all of the supplies you will need:

  • crayons
  • popsicle sticks
  • beads of any sort
  • stickers/decorations
  • hot glue gun (to make sure it sticks as well)
  • a picture cut to fit the sticks

-First, I let Brielle color the sticks any colors she wanted (front and back)

-Next, I took the glue gun and glued all of the sticks together in the corners and added the beads on top with hot glue and then let that dry

-Then, I let Brielle place little stickers and decorations all around the sticks

-Finally, I let her help me cut the picture to the correct size, and I hot glued it to the back of the frame, let it dry, and it was complete

So easy, and so fun! Brielle and I used this craft as a learning time experience practicing colors, shapes, and improving her fine motor skills.

When it comes to something fun, creative, and something your kids will love, stickers seem to always come up during the conversation.  Brielle (who is almost 3) LOVES stickers, and so I knew teaming up with Stickerkid was going to be a great idea!

Stickerkid products are:

  • water resistant
  • dishwasher safe
  • microwave safe
  • washer/dryer safe
  • fridge/freezer safe

After going through all the products, I wanted a little bit of everything and couldn’t choose! So, I went with my right-hand gal and Brielle chose the 3 tags, and the 44 medium labels.  She chose the design as well, and the colors, and she LOVED when they were shipped to our house immediately and arrived a few days later! So easy!

I am sure that so many kids that are in school, daycare programs, or even mothers day out need to have their kids items labeled so that they don’t get lost, or misplaced by the other children/teachers. What if you could prevent that by just having a sticker/label on all of their items so that this doesn’t happen? Stickerkid is the perfect product for that!

When the stickers and labels arrived to our house, Brielle couldn’t wait to start labeling anything and everything with them! It was adorable how excited she was.  The bonus–she knew they said her name on them and remembered the design that she had chosen!  She put the tags on her diaper/to-go bag and her overnight bag, and started placing the sticker label on all of her puzzles, juice cups, and anything that was “hers”.  I am sure other children would love to use these products as well, so I am going to post a link below for you to check out some of the amazing products they offer!

Be still my heart.

I am not sure if it’s the fact of coming together, praying together, and celebrating Jesus that has made my heart swell, but I sure do love this time of year.

I really wanted to take some bluebonnet pictures of Brielle this year, and I always seem to pick the wrong time to do so (this time was right before her nap), but I really wanted to work on my lighting on my manual settings during the bright sun times.

I realized that A. I need to invest in some shading supplies for when I do have a helper that could lend an extra hand and B.  I am still not quite there yet with adjusting my settings during the appropriate time of day.

Here are some beautiful pictures of Brielle and I even got to capture a couple of her and Shane (which I absolutely love).  The lighting changes in a lot of the pictures because like I said above, it was a lot of adjusting settings to see what worked the best.  I love the ones in her tutu dress that my friend Courtney made for her last year for Easter, and the ones where she was just acting silly.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do! 🙂 Happy Easter!
