This letter of the week was a fun teaching week, since so many things start with O that she already loves! The letter O is kind of interesting in that it’s so hard to teach a toddler the difference between a circle and the letter O. I kept having to tell her when she is learning shapes it’s called a circle and when practicing the alphabet it’s called the letter O.
Octopus was one of the first things I started with, because she had just went to the ocean with my parents the week before and I shown her lots of different pictures of things she might see when she was there. Of course, teaching her that ocean started with the same letter, made her trip that much more fun! She was well prepared that O stood for those two things when she went with my parents! 🙂
Orange was also something that she loved to learn! She loves to peel oranges and those little nectarines are so fresh and in season right now that Brielle calls them baby oranges when she sees them. Papa taught her how to peel and orange and now that is one of her favorite things to do when she is helping in the kitchen is to “peel” things. Orange being a color made for some fun activities as well, since she has some pretty cute orange clothes for the summer and when she was coloring I would tell her “show me the orange crayon” and she would pick it up and say “right here!” so precious.
Oscar was a MAJOR thing with Brielle since that is the name of our Cat. She absolutely LOVES him to pieces, and it’s sad that he doesn’t exactly feel the same way towards her. So I made up the song “O is for Oscar, my favorite favorite pet” and she would sing it over and over again every time she saw him. We are already a new letter this week and she still will say the song! She seriously loves him, and I know one day, he will show her the same love in return. 🙂
I know this week was fun and I will leave you with a few cute pictures of the week, and definitely tune in for next week, since P is coming up! 🙂
