WOW! I can’t even believe that we are already half way through the alphabet!! CRAZY how fast time is flying! I seriously think she is definitely picking up on a lot of them, she is even spelling words (sometimes in the right order, sometimes not) and I am shocked that she is including letters that we have not been over yet! My little girl is learning so much!
This week was interesting, because not a lot of fun things start with the letter N! So I had to get creative on what words I was really going focus on teaching her, and what things I think she would be most interested in learning. She loves animals and I could not come up with one!
First off, I started out by teaching her that Nana starts with the letter N! She absolutely loved it even more when I made it into a song and said “N-A-N-A spells your ____ and I taught her to say NANA!” So we would sing it periodically, and I even got to show Nana through video chat what we were working on before we saw her in person, and Nana was so excited!
Then I taught her that “no” starts with the letter N as well. So I would sign it (No) and I would say “what word did I sign? What letter does it start with?” She loves signing yes and no, and she loved that little activity. She is picking up on more signs which I am so excited about! 🙂
Behavior has been a big issue lately (you know, another one of those toddler stages) and I figured what better time than to just introduce her behavior with being nice with our letter of the week! I would say “Brielle, we have to be nice, do you know what letter nice starts with?” She would sometimes say it right, but some other times, she would say M! haha It was kind of hilarious.
I really wish I would have had more time to spend teaching that letter, but she seemed to pick it up pretty quickly! I am so glad that she is loving to still learn about the alphabet, and I can only hope that will retain at least half or more of all of the letters in the end! 🙂
Here are a few cute pictures from tracing, coloring, signing, and singing songs, and playing with the magnets on the fridge.
