Family Day: Austin zoo!

This past Sunday, we celebrated yet another day of our monthly vacation in honor of Rochelle. We (my parents and my brothers family) decided this month that we were all going to the Austin zoo this month.  It was so exciting for the kids, and I had not been to a zoo in a long while, and it was quite nice.

We also invited our cousin Veronica and her family and we were so happy that they showed up! Their son Braxton  is beyond adorable and I am so glad that Brielle got to see her cousin that she doesn’t get to see very often!

We started our day out around 1:30pm and it was hot, but not too hot.  Brielle LOVED that right when you walk in, peacocks come up to you and she was in heaven.. oh and the fact that she got to chase chickens was an added bonus. Our letter of the week was L and she was so happy to see a lion, even though he was sleeping and not doing much, lol! I think her favorite exhibit was probably the monkeys, because they were such characters and climbing and jumping every where. Oh, and the black bears that were 15 months had trainers to feed them and tell us information about them, and she loved seeing the bears climb the fence.

One of the major downhills about the zoo, were the bees.  They were TERRIBLE! Especially by the little food trucks, and the rest rooms. Also, the changing room, did not have a place to lay your child down to change their diaper.  So weird! It was literally just a sink with a table top in the bathroom, but I made it work making a paper towel pallet. 🙂

Overall, it was great day spent with family, kids, love, junk food, and overall just a new experience that we got to have together.  I love family days every month, and can’t wait for next month! It was be at Brielle’s BIRTHDAY party!! Ahh, my baby girl is almost two!

I wish I would have taken more pictures, but seriously I was loving every moment!
