Celebration of life!

This past Saturday May 2nd, 2015 was the celebration of life at Dell’s Children’s Hospital.  They sent me a letter in the mail about a month ago, asking if we would like to attend this year’s ceremony and celebrate Rochelle’s life.  I did not hesitate at all when I said yes.

I went with Shane, my parents, and my best friend Adriane.  It was kind of terrifying walking into the hospital, going down the same hall that Rochelle spent many days on, where the ceremony was taking place in the healing garden.  I felt so nervous, especially taking Brielle and not knowing how she would really understand what was going on. The last place she saw her sister was after she passed away, in her hospital room.  That is still where she thinks “chelle” is many times when we talk about her.

The ceremony started at 10am which was pretty nice, considering it was early enough to still have a bit of breeze before the heat really sunk in.  It was amazing how they sang such beautiful songs and such kind words about our precious children.  I truly loved being there, even if Brielle had to be walked around by Nana and Papa, these volunteers made this day amazing and I love to see Rochelle remembered as much as possible.  We will never forget those precious 2 months and 1 day we had with her, and thank God so much for giving us that precious time.

Thank you so much to all of the amazing doctors, nurses, friends, and family that took care of us while we spent many nights in the hospital.  We love you all.

I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us, and what ways we can help other families that are going through, or have been through a similar situation to us.

Here are a few photos from the day, and I am so glad that we all went! 🙂
