Letter of the week: A

Last week, after reading a blog where the mom was going to start teaching her child the alphabet one week at a time, I thought to myself “that is such a great idea!!” and started thinking of ways to teach Brielle.  One of my favorite things to do is teach, and just finding different methods and ways to teach one thing is so exciting to me.

I know right now tracing is not easy for Brielle to do, but I figured it is worth starting and trying to have a goal to work towards.  She LOVES to color, draw lines, and she is practicing with her shapes, so I know in time she will love to trace letters.

I also wanted to make a trip or show her an example, and I loved that we went to the Austin Aquarium (both A’s) and she had such a great time!!  I wish we could take a trip somewhere every week, but that will just have to happen when we are all available too. 🙂

One of my favorite things to do with Brielle is to read with her. I love examples in her books that show letters, pictures, and just overall words that we can see a specific letter and get so happy when Brielle gets it right.

Practicing the letters on the fridge, seeing them when we are out and about, letters are just about every where, and I am so excited to start this journey with her! She may not pick this up the first time, but exposure is everything and I can’t wait to see what all she will know next year! 🙂
