Title : I Will Carry You (the sacred dance of grief and joy)

Author: Angie Smith

Number of Pages: 211

This book has by far been such a great tool during my recovering process and healing.  This book is written from a mom, who finds out that she is pregnant with her fourth child and the baby is “incompatible with life”.  Not only does this woman exemplify faith throughout the whole process from finding out her results, to the birth of the her baby girl, all the way to when her baby girl passed and beyond.

She describes the grief she feels and how she will always be coping with the grief, just in different stages.  She provides prayers for us moms who have gone through what she has gone through, or are currently in the situation right now. She provides scriptures  in the starting of each chapter from the Bible and one of my favorite ones from the book is “Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.  My comfort in my suffering in this:Your promise preserves my life.” Psalm 119:49-50

The journey is also described how her and her husband were able to tell their three other children what exactly was going on, in a way they could understand it, and how they were going to handle everything after baby Audrey left to be with the Lord.  I love that she explained what each of the girls were feeling, and how they asked questions, and how she had to meet their needs even when she couldn’t bear to get out of bed.

If I could describe this book in one word it would be real.  This book truly made me feel like we were in very similar situations and have gotten through all of it with family, friends, prayers and scriptures from the Bible.  It is truly healing knowing that we are not alone.  If any one person has ever lost a child, regardless if they got to meet them or not, a loss is a loss and it takes a toll on your mind, body, and spirit.

I would recommend this book to anyone.  To the person who is trying to understand what their friend, family, or significant other is feeling during such a hard time.  To the person who is curious about how the Lord helped heal this family.  To the person who has recently lost a child and just needs a great, well-written book.  It is truly good for any one person.

Thank you so much again to the support team for sending me this book.  This was such a great read!

I will carry you
